Simone Picciotto

Born in Cairo in an Italian family, Picciotto lived in Belgium, Italy, and in France where she has now settled. She received a first prize at the Fine Arts Academy in Brussels and attended Fernand Léger’s then Jean Deyrolles’ ateliers in Paris.

Through unbridled, highly creative and imaginary compositions, Simone Picciotto takes us into a poetic and marvelous world. She aggregates different, often worn (used) materials in an oeuvre that is rich in colors and in which forms such as superimposed faces painted from different angles are of an astonishing beauty.
