Michel de Matteis

Michel de Matteis graduated from the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Lyon. He expresses a vision of a man on the world. Hills, woods, paths, a walk through nature. But also favelas around the world with the inherent strength of life. Or in his series ” With the nose in the grass” another view of nature. And then, looking in the sky, a neoclassical view of ” the sky falls on our heads” referring to the nature survival issues.

One recognizes Dürer, Corot, Courbet, Nicolas de Staël, Anselm Kiefer, Marcel Duchamp and Joseph Beuys but also Dante Alighieri ou Maître Eckhart.
