Arno Boueilh
Arno Boueilh depicts a series of urban and colored cityscapes painted in southern Italy and softer Tuscan landscapes. Striking the onlooker is that all are devoid of human presence. In fact, there is no need to include them as emotions directly emanate from Boueilh’s landscapes. Lines and colors evoke travel, contrasts between urban and rural ambiences.
Passionate about architecture, Boueilh, through distinct and accurate lines depicts Napolitano buildings – city in which he lives and works – bathing in intense and uncompromising light. The Tuscan landscapes are rounder, softer, highlighting shadows, winding roads lined with hedges, cypress trees, and randomly perched villages on top of hills. A new series of paintings from which emanate feelings of appeasement, silence, immobility and passing of time.
